Charleston County Park Reggae Nights Concert

  • Written by  Moultrie News

The Charleston County Park and Recreation Commission will kick off the first Reggae Nights concert of its Summer Concert Series on Saturday, June 1 at James Island County Park. Gates open at 8 p.m. and music by Selah Dubb begins at 8:30 p.m.

For the perfect cool ending to a warm summer day, bring your chair or blanket, kick back and relax to an outdoor reggae concert in the beautiful outdoor setting of one of your county parks. All ages are invited and children 12 and under, as well as Gold Pass holders, enjoy free admission to all events in the concert series. Hungry concert-goers can purchase Caribbean-style dishes, pizza and other festival foods at the event. Crafters and other vendors will be on site displaying local handmade crafts and souvenirs available for purchase.

Additional reggae concerts will take place throughout the summer at James Island County Park. The 2013 Reggae Nights Summer Concert Series lineup is:

June 1: Selah Dubb

June 22: The Dubplates

July 13: De Lions of Jah

Aug. 3: Mystic Vibrations

Tickets can be purchased at the gate. Tickets are $8 for adults (13 and up); children 12 and under are free. Annual Gold Pass holders will also be free of charge. Please, no outside alcohol or coolers. James Island County Park is located at 871 Riverland Drive. For more information or for a current band schedule, visit www.ccprc.com/reggae or call (843)-795-4386. This event is brought to you by Piggly Wiggly, Southern Eagle and your Charleston County Parks.
