I don't have a religion, you know. This is what I am. I am a Rastaman; so this is not religion. This is life. - Bob Marley
The pilgrimage shall soon begin! Reggae on the River is a world-renown gathering with tribal vibes happening this July 30 - August 2.
Just one of the distinct qualities that makes this reggae festival famous is that is does not take place on fairgrounds or in an auditorium, but on sacred, private land - "French's Camp" - that will be auspiciously steeped during this year's event, in the light of the full (and blue!) moon.
Be smart and get your tickets before you arrive at the gate- where prices will increase. Act now though and online buyers of 3 or 4 day tickets can take advantage of a final opportunity to get yours at a $25 discount- while supplies last. Use promo code = River15 - and start packing!
Or, make a positive impact with the new Ambassador Pass which directly contributes 10 percent of your ticket price to Kingston, Jamaica's Alpha Institute (formerly Alpha Boys School) and to the Lil Raggamuffins Camp for the resident youth in the Blue Mountains.
And heads up, if you are planning on bringing an RV - these are going fast and will sell out before the show!
However you arrive, the purchase of your ticket plays a role in yet another unique element of this festival- as it is the primary fundraiser for the non-profit Mateel Community Center which provides our local people with social services, as well as arts, educational, cultural, youth, and health/fitness opportunities they wouldn't otherwise have access to in the rural location of Southern Humboldt.
Reggae on the River is a life experience!
