Rototom Sunsplash Awarded Concert Of The Year

The Rototom Sunsplash has won the award for Concert of the Year 2011 in the 31st edition of the International Reggae And World Music Awards (IRAWMA), which were celebrated in Chacago. To get an award it is necessary first to be nominated by experts and professionals of the industry from all over the world, and then to get the majority of votes from the public. The other great nominated events were the Reggae Sumfest of Jamaica, the Rebel Salute, the Jamaica Jazz and Blues Festival and the Before The Dawn of Miami. The gala in Chicago has also awarded artists who are in the line-up of the Rototom 2012: Marcia Griffiths, award of honor for her career since the sixties; Tarrus Riley, best vocalist; and Bennie Man, best disc jockey-rapper.

The IRAWMA which means a great support for the Rototom and turns Spain into an outstanding location in the map of the international reggae scene, is added to the recognition by the UNESCO of the Rototom as a Flagship Event of the International Decade for a Culture of Peace and Non-Violence (2001-2010).

Rototom Sunsplash 2012 would deserve this once again? Who are your favourite artists for that day? In exactly one month, on August 20th: The Congos | Max Romeo | Cultura profetica | Beenie Man | Bobby "Black Chiney" Chin | Shashamane international | Iration Steppas en Lima | OBF is the best | Blackboard Jungle | Bandits | Marc Faith | Earl Gateshead + Natty Bo......
